AIL 2A: Queen’s University 33 Old Crescent 13

Queen’s University welcomed Old Crescent to The Dub on Saturday afternoon for their penultimate, regular season, All Ireland fixture.

Having wrapped up top spot a several rounds ago Queen’s are assured of the No 1 ranking for the play off semi finals on 23rd April, Cashel are assured of No 2 and Buccaneers No 3. There are however four sides in the running for fourth spot namely, Ballymena, MU Barnhall, Old Crescent and UL Bohemian.

With Old Crescent last Saturday and Ballymena away on Saturday 9th April Queen’s will play a huge part in who they face in their semi final at the end of the month. The Belfast side cruised through the league this season so I took this opportunity to see how they were positioning themselves for the promotion play offs later in the month.
