On a damp, but mild Sunday lunchtime, City of Derry Women travelled to Belfast to play Belfast Harlequins Women, at Deramore Park in the Ulster Women’s Premiership.

The damp underfoot conditions made ball handling difficult and this was only compounded. This was only compounded when a steady rain started before halftime.

City of Derry caught Quins cold and took the lead after 2 minutes when Amelia McFarland went over for an unconverted try.
Play was largely between the ‘22s’ before McFarland got her 2nd try, on 20 minutes, converted by Ciara Moore.

Quins replied with an Emma McQuitty try after 37 minutes.
City of Derry took a 12-5 lead into halftime.
For all Quins 2nd half efforts they managed a solitary score through an unconverted try by Stacey Bryce.
In the rain, City of Derry ran out 12-10 winners.
