Ballynahinch progress to the next round of the Senior Cup with a comfortable win at Bangor on Saturday afternoon.

We visited Bangor RFC for a couple of fixtures in the Senior Cup and Forster Cup on Saturday afternoon.

Despite a big effort from Bangor in the Senior Cup it was pretty much one way traffic with Ballynahinch recording a substantial win.

The Hinch forwards caused the initial damage with Tommy Doonan, John Dickson and Zac McCall all crossing in the first quarter, with Jack Milligan converting one to rattle the scoreboard along to 17 – 0.

Backs Yasser Omar and Ronan Patterson got in on the act in the second quarter before Thomas Martin crossed with the final score of the half. With Milligan adding a second conversion the teams turned round with Ballynahinch leading 0 – 34.

We went over to look at the at the Forster game at half time. In this game Hinch scored three more tries with Josh Hanlon, Conor McAuley and Rory Butler all crossing, Greg Hutley converting all three.

Bangor worked hard throughout but were unable to capitalise on their chances.

Bangor worked hard throughout and a Mark Widdowson try towards the end of the third quarter was meagre reward for their efforts.

Final Score: Bangor 5 Ballynahinch 55 Senior Cup.
