We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

We caught up with Pegasus, for the second time this season, in the all Ulster derby against Belfast Harlequins on Wednesday night at The Dub. In an entertaining and sometimes chippy encounter the defending champions were able to hold off a strong challenge from the visitors and record a 2 – 1 win.

Pegasus applied most of the pressure in the first quarter but Quins looked dangerous on the break and they started to find some joy down the right, particularly when the hard working joined the attack.

Quins’ Katheryn Smiley pulls away after sending home the opening score.

However, it was a break through the middle that opened the scoring in the closing minutes of the quarter with Kathryn Smiley hitting a well placed shot from distance to give Quins a 0 – 1 lead.

There was still time for Pegasus to respond and they went straight back up the pitch for “goal machine” to find the net and take the score to 1 – 1 at the end of the first quarter.

A cagey second quarter ensued and Quins looked to be getting on top with a series of attacks. Despite the pressure seeing Pegasus players and green carded the visitors were unable to take advantage and the half ended without further score.

It was another scoring outing from Pegasus youngster Ella Armstrong.

Pegasus moved up a gear in the second half and their all over press shut the door on Quins building from the back as more and more passes out went dead. The champions were able to control the tempo and they made Quins work hard in defence.

The breakthrough came on the 42nd minute with finishing off some strong work down the left by and Speers to give Pegasus a 2 – 1 lead.

There was still time for plenty of action and Quins worked hard to get back on parity in an exciting final quarter. However, the experienced Pegasus side held firm and controlled possession with the hard working Armstrong getting plenty of ball to keep the Quins defence on their toes.

Final score: Pegasus 2 Belfast Harlequins 1.
