This is a disgrace that Ulster are letting a homegrown quality player leave with insufficent
cover. PW>france,Birch unproven?yet,McComish “WHY”??,Ferris unavailable for much of
season, leaving Henry and Wilson as only quality back row cover. Does DH/B McL want
new coach to be hamstrung before he starts .Bearing in mind the IRFU dictat on foreign
players and the much publicised ambition “to take Ulster to the next level” its crass stupidity
not to make every possible effort to prevent the loss of home grown talent while luring
others ,or foreign mercenaries ,for larger monetary sums.

It appears that the Irish Times are reporting that Ulster are waiting for permission form the IRFU to sign an overseas back row. It does appear to me that Ulster are trying to buy their way to the top tier rather than develop our youngsters and more importantly our own style.

When the starting XV for the Airioni game is announced today there will be at least 7 players from outside the Province starting while more and more Ulster youngsters look overseas to get a game.
