Rugby Rankings Week 12

It’s a case of ‘Home sweet home’ for the first rankings of the new year as all the teams who didn’t travel over the Christmas break recorded wins and thereby improved or held onto their position in the table.

RBAI managed to reclaim 3rd spot with a convincing win over Bangor GS. Bangor have started to fall short as of late, their form looking as cold as the adverse temperatures recorded in Ulster recently. They’ll be hoping for a major ‘thaw’ as the time for Cup matches approaches.

Belfast HS managed to record only their third win of the entire season so far against Portora RS to make sure 2010 ended on a high-note. The win pushes them up one position to 22nd and will give them confidence to win away from home against Carrick in next week’s Cup match.

The fortunes of Rainey ES have been highlighted recently in this section and once again we see them walk away with a victory, this time over near rivals, Limavady GS. It sees them break into the top 20 for the first time this season and, just like Belfast HS, it will be an important boost before . . .
