Club U18 Plate: Ballynahinch 30 Coleraine 22 Final

The final game at Meadowbank Sports Arena on Saturday was the Club U18 Plate FInal between Ballynahinch and Coleraine. Maybe a bit more punt and grunt in this one but it was the third entertaining game in a row.

The opening try set the tone for Ballynahinch as they kicked to the corner for their big pack to work it over the line, Thomas Kirkwood coming up with the try for a 5 – 0 lead.

It was just short of 10 minutes until the next score and it was Hinch again with Owen Hamill landing a penalty for a 8 – 0 lead.

Jamie Pollock

Coleraine cut loose about 30 minutes in with a try from Jamie Pollock, converted by Isaac Stubbs Carton to take the score to 8 – 7.

Hugh Bradley and and Harry Smyth crossed, in quick succession for unconverted tries for Coleraine as the score rattled along to 8 – 17.
