Late on Saturday afternoon, Pegasus II faced Queens II in a Women’s Junior One league game at Newforge Sports Complex.
Pegasus dominated a scoreless 1st quarter, unable to convert any of the chances created. Queens forwards were starved of possession, as Pegasus defended high up the pitch.
The 2nd quarter was much the same fare, with Pegasus unable to break down a stubborn Queens defence. Halftime was reached with no score.
Again, Pegasus had most of the possession in the 3rd quarter. Pegasus seemed to lose concentration towards the end of the quarter and against the run of play conceded a goal to Aoife Watson’s 36th minute strike for Queens to lead 1-0.
Only 3 minutes later Rachel Kennedy gave Queens a 39th minute 2-0 lead.
