We caught up with the Junior Cup group match between Instonians 2XV and Ballynahinch 2XV at Shaws Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Instonians took the lead after 17 minutes with a try from Freddie Clarke, converted by Jamie Beattie for a 7 – 0 lead.
The home team crossed again, 15 minutes alter with Jack Parkinson getting an unconverted try to push the score along to 12 – 0.
Hinch hit back with two tries late in the first half as Ben Wilson crossed to be quickly followed by Ronan Patterson. Both were converted to give Hinch a 12 – 14 lead as the teams changed ends.
Hinch were first to cross in the second half with Stephen Campbell picking up a converted try to push it along to 12 – 21
Instonians hit back with an Andrew Keane try, converted by Beattie, to take it to 19 -21 about 50 minutes in.
However, Hinch were able to pull away with two late tries, from Patterson and Alex Murphy, both converted, for the visitors to take a 19 – 35 win.
