On Saturday afternoon, University College Cork made the long trip up to The Dub, to play Queens in an AIL1B fixture. Queens were devoid of several players called in to the Emerging Ireland and Ulster Squads in South Africa.
UCC won a penalty from the kick off, kicked into the corner and Adam Wrona drove over from close range for the opening score, after 1 minute. Daniel Squires added the conversion for a 7-0 lead.
Queens couldn’t gain any possession. Darragh French added UCC’s 2nd try on 6 minutes. Squires converted for 14-0.
Worse was to follow. Evan Clarke score wide out, on the left and Squire added the conversion for 21-0, after 16 minutes.

Queens rallied and gained some territory and possession. On 27 minutes Finn Longstaff drove over, following a lineout maul. Michael McDonald’s conversion brought Queens back to 7 . . .
