Junior Shield: Lurgan 31 Academy 12 Semi Final

by

Lurgan welcomed Academy to Pollock Park for the second successive weekend, this time for a Junior Shield semi final match.

There was no sign of the home team resting on their laurels after last week’s Championship 2 win as Lurgan got on the scoreboard early with a try from Chris Patterson, converted by Marty Connolly, for a 7 – 0 lead after 5 minutes.

Chris Patterson opened the scoring for Lurgan.

It was a tight enough game between the Championship 2 rivals but a second try for Lurgan, from Angus Cunningham, put the home team in the driving seat and they took the 12 – 0 lead into the second half.
