On Saturday, in game three of a triple header at the Kingspan Stadium, City of Derry faced Dromore in the Junior Cup final. A deceptively strong swirling wind, for the most part blew diagonally down the pitch. A large, very vocal crowd, not frightened to give the referee advice, greeted both teams, when they took the field.

Playing with the wind, Dromore pinned Derry back from kick off and took the lead after only 3 minutes, when Andrew Rutledge scored for a 5-0 lead.
On 15 minutes Adam McDonald’s try, under the posts and Lee Steenson’s conversion, moved Dromore out to 12-0.
Derry struggled to get a foothold in the Dromore half & Steenson’s 23rd minute . . .
