Pegasus welcomed Monkstown to The Dub late Saturday afternoon for a crucial relegation battle in the Women’s All Ireland Hockey League.

Pegasus, buoyed in recent weeks by the return of Ruth McCandless and Lucy McKee, started well. After a few close attempts, Stef Ardis scored the home team’s first goal, guiding the ball past the keeper’s right.

Alex Speers soon extended the lead, scoring one-on-one against the keeper. Monkstown pushed back, but strong defense and solid goalkeeping from Megan Todd held them scoreless.
