Ulster U20 entertained Munster U20 at Newforge on Friday 5th August for a pre season hit out with Ulster edging the encounter 17 – 15.
It was a typical early season encounter, plenty of endeavour from both sides but a touch scrappy with neither side managing to build many periods of sustained pressure.
The visitors looked the most comfortable with the ball in hand but a battling finale from Ulster, and the only conversion of the game gave them the win in the dying minutes.
The first quarter was a touch messy, Ulster had a few chances but their handling let them down and it was against the run of play when Munster broke out, at the start of the second quarter, through their right wing who sent Henry Buttirmer over in the corner for the opening score after 24 minutes.
