Belfast Met have a big 45-5 win over City of Armagh in the Ulster Under 18 Cup

On Saturday morning City of Armagh travelled to Castlereagh to play Belfast Metropolitan College in a rearranged Ulster U18 Cup quarter final.

Belfast Met rumbled from kick off, they set up camp in the Armagh 22 and pressure led to a Jamie Carville try, converted by Ethan Graham, after 5 minutes.

Despite almost constant pressure it took to 21 minutes before Belfast Met registered a 2nd try. Cameron Patterson found space and ran in in the right corner. Graham converted for Belfast Met to lead 14 – 0.

An injury for Armagh, coupled with no substitutes reduced their numbers to 14. What was an uphill battle became a mountain.

Connor McKee dived over for Belfast Met’s 3rd try

On 30 minutes Connor McKee dived over, under the posts, spectacularly, for a try converted by Graham and Belfast Met led 21 – 0.

Armagh worked their way up the pitch, ran a close range short penalty and Alexander Brennan crashed over from short range after 32 minutes to pull a score back.

Belfast Met led 21 – 5 at halftime.

After the break, playing with the slope and breeze, Belfast Met piled on the points.

A valiant Armagh defence couldn’t stop Belfast Met

Despite a valiant Armagh defence, tries by Graham, after 39, 60 and 65 minutes, coupled with a Mark Anderson try, and two Graham conversions moved Belfast Met into a commanding 45 – 5 victory and a place in the semi finals.
