On Saturday morning, Banbridge travelled to the Belfast Metropolitan College, Castlereagh Campus, for an U18 Cup Semi Final tie against Belfast Met.
Playing with the wind and slope Belfast Met established themselves in the Banbridge half and took the lead when Ethan Graham converted a 7th minute penalty goal.
Despite possession and territory Belfast Met failed to capitalise. They sucked in a narrow Banbridge defence but invariably took the wrong option bringing the ball back into traffic, where the Banbridge defence snuffed out the attack.
Banbridge worked there way back into the game and took the lead when David Keogh scampered in for a try beside the posts, converted by Josefata Naga to go 7-3 up after 32 minutes.
Banbridge led 7-3 at halftime.
Belfast Met listened to their coach, because it was a very different performance in the 2nd half. The narrow Banbridge defence was sucked in, space and mismatches were exploited.
Tries followed through Mark Anderson, 43 and 68 minutes, Cameron Patterson, 50 minutes and Graham 66 minutes, for a 23-7 Belfast Met lead.
In the last move of the game Kia Shields pulled one back for Banbridge for a 23-12 final score.
Belfast Met now look forward to the U18 Cup Final at Kingspan Stadium on Saturday 26th March.
