Lisnagarvey Hockey Club was the venue for Wednesday’s Senior Cup Final between Methodist College, Belfast and The Royal School Armagh.
Weather wise, I didn’t know what to expect. On the back road from South Belfast to Royal Hillsborough I encountered heavy rain and flooding in several places. As it was, overhead was grey with light rain and drizzle, with little wind.
The scoreless 1st quarter was a tense affair with both attacks and defences testing each other out. Methody probably edged it having the first strike on goal turned away by the Armagh keeper.

The second quarter was similar fare, played in light rain, each side cancelling each other out in a battle for midfield domination. It was scoreless at halftime . . .
