I made the short trip to Woodlawn on Saturday afternoon for the match between Carrick II’s and Banbridge III’s in the Campbell Cup.
The teams served up an entertaining game, ably assisted by the referee who laid down the law early and kept the play flowing.
Banbridge enjoyed the best of the early exchanges, despite playing into the wind and after a period of pressure in the Carrick 22 the visitors came away with three points from the boot of Ian Porter.
Carrick came more into the game as the half progressed but with both sides competing well at the breakdown the teams struggled for the continuity required to convert pressure into points.
