In the second part of our double header at Shaws Bridge on Saturday afternoon it was a bit of a Halloween Horror for Cooke in the Women’s AIL as Bob Given Photography reports.
Cooke Women suffered a heavy Women’s AIL defeat for the second week in succession, this time to Galwegians.
Cooke took the lead through a Helen McGhee try, converted by Amanda Morton. Galwegians replied with tries by Mairead Coyne, Megan Walsh and Fiona Scally. Emma Keane added 2 conversions to leave Galwegians leading 19-7 at the break.
Moments after halftime Galwegians extended their lead with a Faith Oviawe try, converted by Keane. Cooke had little in response, save for very occasional forays into the Galwegians 22.
Galwegians pressed home their dominance with further tries by Elizabeth McNicholas, Ursula Sammon and Laoise McGonagle, all converted by Keane, to run out 47-7 victors.
