Community Series: Old Belvedere 48 Wicklow 3

We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process โ€” the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

Old Belvedere Women welcomed AIL newcomers Wicklow to the Ollie Campbell Park on Saturday evening for community Series match in the Leinster Conference.

Wicklow produced a determined first half performance making the D4 Dutchess’ work hard for their scores.

Belvo’s first try came at the end of the first quarter with D4 debutant Alannah O’Carroll squeezing in out wide giving a difficult conversion which fell just short.

Alannah O’Connell goes over for the first try of the game.

Wicklow hit back with a penalty to take the score to 5 – 3 but minutes later Dervla Nic a Bhaird crashed over close to the posts for the home sides second try, which Jackson converted.

Wicklow continued to enjoy good periods of possession but Belvo had the final say of the first half as O’Carroll was put through for her second try just before the break.

The teams turned round with the score reading Old Belvedere 17 Wicklow 5.

Unfortunately for the visitors it was all Belvo in the second half as they ran in five more tries without reply.

Ciara O’Dwyer was amongst the second half scorers.

Nic A Baird went over for her second and she was joined by Ciara O’Dwyer, who also crossed twice, with Alice O’Dowd and adding one each.

The “Grand Duchess” Jackson converted three of the second half tries to give a final score of Old Belvedere 48 Wicklow 3.
