The boot of Niamh Briggs was the difference between these sides as, defending champions, UL Bohemian returned to Limerick with a win in the bag despite being outscored by three tries to two by Old Belvedere at Anglesea Road.
Both sides were a bit rusty in this early season encounter but there was no shortage of endeavour from the teams who battled for the full 80 minutes in a tight contest.
Old Belvedere’s tries came from an Elise O’Byrne-White brace with Linda Djougang also crossing. Ailbhe Dowling converted one.
Ul Bohemian responded with a try from Chloe Pearse in the first half and youngster Enya Breen crossed in the second. Briggs added two penalties and a conversion Edel Murphy chipping in with a late penalty.
