All Ireland Plate. Blackrock 29 St Mary’s College 19 (Final)

In the Plate Final, Blackrock came out on top against St Mary’s with a 29 – 19 win. Blackrock will have been pleased to pick up some silverware after a disappointing league season by their own high standards.

Hannah O’Connor led the charge for Blackrock with two tries and three penalties. The final try was scored by Ray Lawless after good work by Michelle Claffey.

St Mary’s, on the other hand, would have loved to have made a bigger statement ahead of their final promotion push but the Dublin outfit still remain favourites to return to the AIL at the first attempt with Paula Fitzpatrick in fine form.
