Women AIL: UL Bohemian 12 Railway Union 10 Play Off Semi Final

We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

What’s going on here? A women’s club match not featuring an Ulster team!

As I was down in Limerick with my new camera for the Ulster Rugby game I thought I’d go along and cover this Women’s All Ireland League Semifinal replay at UL Bohs. The pot was somewhat sweetened as Railway were featuring two Ulster players in and .

I’m glad I made the effort as it was a good quality game, played at a good pace, on 4G pitches at Limerick University – though the pitches themselves took some finding!

Aine Saunton had a great game for Ul Bohs.

Railway looked to have the better of the opening exchanges but Boh’s worked their way back into the game over the first quarter and  opened the scoring with a try on 20 minutes.

The score sparked the game to life and within minutes wing forward Meg Kendall crossed for Railway to level the score at 5 all.

Boh’s crossed again ten minutes later with finding the line, the full back converting her own score to give Boh’s a 12 – 5 lead at the break.

Railway were the only side to score in the second half with winger Emer O’Mahony crossing out wide after a series of driving plays from the visitors. However the conversion was missed to leave Boh’s with a two point lead.

Nikki Caughey and Larissa Muldoon at Railway Union.

Unfortunately for our Ulster girls that’s the way it stayed despite some excellent play from both sides.

Final score: UL Bohemian 12 Railway Union 10
