Women’s Interprovincials: Ulster 10 Munster 36.

We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

It was heartbreak for Ulster in this season’s opening Inter Provincial championship with the home side going down 10 – 36 to a strong Munster side at Queen’s Arena, The Dub on Sunday afternoon.

Ulster started brightly and put Munster under immediate pressure. A penalty attempt from , after two minutes, was pushed wide but Ulster kept the visitors on the back foot with Ulster captain  prominent. After a series of rucks close to the Munster line Ulster’s spotted a gap and forced her way over the line for the opening score. Davitt hit the post with the conversion leaving the score at Ulster 5 Munster 0.

Munster worked hard to get back in the game and the wonderfully talented was on hand to dot down out right after the Ulster defence was fully stretched. Briggs added the conversion and the visitors led  5 – 7.

The game settled down after this initial flurry but the half ended with a burst of activity with Munster’s scoring twice in quick succession, with Briggs converting one, before replied for Ulster beating three defenders to score in the corner. The Ulster try went unconverted giving a half time score of Ulster 10 Munster 19.

It was a scrappy start to the second half with both sides making several changes and Ulster introduced a series of positional switches that appeared to break up their game. Munster took full advantage with going over at the end of the third quarter to extend the visitors lead to fourteen points.

The visitors dominated the closing quarter as Ulster fell off the pace and Briggs and scored late tries, with Briggs converting one, to give the visitors a deserved win.
