Despite controlling large portions of the game Dungannon fail to see off a determined UL Bohemians to lose this AIL 1B match by 19 points to 23.
Playing with a strong wind the home side took an early lead through a Patrick Jackson penalty. However Bohemians hit back shortly after with a well worked try by winger Darren Maroney. The conversion was missed leaving the score at 3 – 5.
Dungannon, featuring Ulster players TJ Anderson and Ryan Caldwell, dominated the remainder of the opening half but failed to find the final pass and were turned over on several occasions by the impressive Bohemians back row.
Gaston, Telford and Cochrane all managed to break the gain line on occasion but invariably the moves broke down and a further three Jackson penalties were scant reward for Dungannon’s play.
The sides turned round at the break with the score reading 12 – 5 but the home side would have hoped for more . . .
