Schools Cup: Down High School 12 Enniskillen Royal Grammar School 22 Final

On Thursday it was a high noon showdown at Ravenhill for the Girls Schools Cup Final between Down High School and current champions, Enniskillen Royal Grammar School. The final was played in 7s format over 4 quarters.

Enniskillen scored an early try when Natalie Turner sprinted around the defence to score for 5-0.

Ruby Moore cut a line through the Down defence to score and move Enniskillen out to a 10-0 halftime lead.

Freya Boyce scored twice for Down

Down needed an early breakthrough and got it when Freya Boyce powered over. Meabh Hull converted to reduce the deficit to 7-10 early in the 2nd half.

Enniskillen replied almost immediately when Ruby Moore cut through the Down defence to score close to the posts. Eve Balfour converted to move Enniskillen 17-7 ahead.
