On Saturday morning Pirrie Park was the neutral venue for the Medallion Bowl Final Between Belfast Royal Academy and Friends School.
Perhaps it was nerves, but BRA seemed overawed by the occasion allowing Friends on to the front foot. On 4 minutes Josiah Morrison crossed in the right corner to put Friends 5-0 up.
Friends pressure didn’t cease trapping BRA in their half. Friends couldn’t turn pressure into points. BRA survived 3 lengthy goal line stands to go into halftime only 0-5 down. Friends would have been disappointed with the score.
After the break it was a different BRA side with a reversal of fortunes.
