Late Saturday afternoon game three of a triple header, at Ravenhill, saw old foes Ballynahinch and Instonians face each other in the Senior Cup Final.
Both teams set the tempo early on with big tackles going in.
Instonians opened the scoring. Bradley McNamara spotted a hole in the Ballynahinch defence and sprinted through. Despite being tacked he bounced to his feet to score. Josh Eagleson’s conversion gave Instonians a 7-0 lead after 9 minutes.
Ballynahinch replied almost immediately. The Ballynahinch pack rumbled forward in a series of pick and goes, before James Humphreys powered over to reduce the deficit to 5-7 on 13 minutes.
