We caught up with the Subsidiary Shield semi final between Banbridge Academy and Methodist College on Saturday morning at Banbridge.
Both teams started the game with plenty of intent, Methody coming close in the opening minutes. However Banbridge were first to trouble the scoreboard with a well worked try as Andrew Jackson chipped the ball into the hands of Ethan Houston for the winger to score out wide for a 5 – 0 lead.
Methody tied the game 5 – 5 nine minutes later when their right wing Sam Nixon found some space out wide to dive over and nine minutes after that they took the lead with a try from No 8 Oliver Gartley which took the score to 5 – 10.
