Schools Trophy: Dromore High 14 Antrim Grammar 39 Semi Final

We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

We caught up with the Schools trophy semi final between Dromore High and Antrim Grammar at Barban Hill on Saturday morning.

Antrim Grammar stamped their authority on the game early on with No 3, Jonah Woolley storming his way over the line giving a relatively easy kick for a 0 – 7 lead.

The visitors kept the pressure up and soon added to their tally with No 12, running in at the corner, Lynn again converting to push it out to 0 – 14.

Dromore went close on a couple of occasions, once being denied right under the opposition posts but they soon got back in the game when No.2, crashed over the line, adding the conversion to pull it back to 7 – 14

The High School had a player red carded near the end of the half and the resultant penalty by Lynn took the score to 7 – 17 in Antrim’s favour at half time.

An early penalty for Antrim, easily dispatched by Lynn, increased the visitor’s lead to 7 – 20. The same player then picked up the ball at an ongoing maul and scampered over for a try which he also converted to push it out to 7 – 27.

Antrim had a strong second half.

Dromore then put a lot of pressure on the Antrim try line and a bit of indiscretion by the defenders saw the awarding of a penalty try to Dromore to take it to 14 – 27.

It was only a blip for Antrim and the visitors drove down to the home try line for McNeilly to dive over for his second score of the game.

It was all Antrim now and near the end of the game, No 1, topped off a fine individual drive by going over near the posts making the final conversion by Lynn straightforward to give a 14 – 39 win for Antrim.
