Saturday morning brought a wet and windy backdrop to the friendly under-16 match between Instonians and Academy at Shaws Bridge.

Instonians dominated the game from the start. An early try by Alex Lusty, was soon followed by a try from second-row Marcell Celuba, both unconverted.

Winger Fred Patterson and fullback Lennon Mwira added further tries before the 30-minute mark. Patterson scored again, with Finn Henry successfully converting, and Mwira capped a dominant first-half display with another try.
