This one had all the makings of a top of the table clash, however it ended as a convincing win for Instonians against a rebuilding Ballyclare.

Instonians dominated the first half with their pack causing the damage and Mark Keane and Matthew Keane reaping the rewards. Centre Mark Keane crossed for the first try and scrum half Matthew Keane converted before adding a try and a second conversion.
Ballyclare responded with a Robbie Reid penalty to take the score to 14 – 3 at the break.
The second half followed the same pattern as the first with Instonians dominant and holding Ballyclare at bay.
After a penalty conversion from Matthew Keane, mid half, the home side wrapped up the game with a try from Ryan Hanson before Mark Keane crossed for his second. Matthew Keane converted both to push the score out to 31 – 0.
A late consolation from Ballyclare’s Grant Bartley rounded off the match.
