RBAI powered to a five try win against Regent House in the third round of the Schools Cup on Saturday afternoon.

It was always going to be a difficult afternoon for the Newtownards side and their cause wasn’t helped by a few of the squad recovering from the flu as well as their captain, Adam Curry, missing out with a broken leg.

RBAI applied pressure from the start and the scoring was opened by hooker Ryan McComiskey who finished off an expansive back’s move out wide. Moments later the same player latched on to a charged down clearance kick to, just about, sprint home from the 22. TJ Morris added the conversion giving Inst a 12 – 0 lead.

The home side were also missing a key player in Michael Lowry, but, their captain, Patrick Dolaghan stood in at out half and controlled the game well drawing three penalties from Regent; Morris converting all three to give the home side a 21 – 0 . . .
