Ulster Schools’ Cup 2015: Round 3 Results & Draws

We are currently carrying out a necessary behind-the-scenes upgrade to how images are stored and delivered on The Front Row Union Sports. With over 770,000 images on the site, we are moving our entire image library to a dedicated cloud storage service. This means images will load faster for you, regardless of where you are in the world, and the site will be more reliable overall.

As we are working on three separate versions of images during the offload process, the site cache sometimes struggles to keep up with which version to display and occasionally post grid images or complete galleries may fail to appear. This is a temporary side effect of the migration process — the image exists and is safe, it is simply in the process of being moved to its new home and identified as being there. A refresh of the page will usually bring them back, however, if it does not please contact john@thefrontrowunion.com stating clearly the post address and we will restore it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We expect the bulk of the image migration to be completed by the end of June 2026, with a fully upgraded version of the site ready to launch in August 2026. Once that work is done, the site will be noticeably faster, images will load more reliably, and you will not see any further disruption of this kind. Thank you for your continued support of The Front Row Union Sports.

School-captains

There was plenty of action in the Cup this morning as a number of teams survived through tight matches while others scored a bagful of points; in the game between Down HS and Coleraine AI we even had both:

Sullivan Upper icon Sullivan Upper 0-13 Campbell College Campbell College icon

Limavady GS very nearly pulled off another great win this morning, but were just pipped by RS Armagh in what was the tightest game of the round, while Wallace HS and RBAI look in good form after easing home to their respective victories.

Later in the day, the draw for the Cup & Plate Quarterfinals was made by Ulster Branch and panned out as follows:

1stXV Cup, QF – Sat 21st Feb
Ballyclare HS icon Ballyclare HS v Wallace HS icon Wallace HS

Old rivals Campbell College and Methodist College meet in a Cup QF once again, in what is probably the tie of the round while an intriguing fixture between Coleraine AI and Omagh Academy means that one is guaranteed to go through to the semis and provide the competition with a ‘dark-horse’ in the closing stages.

The respective quarterfinals and semifinals of the Bowl and Trophy competitions also took place this morning, Larne GS featuring in the latter after winning a midweek replay 42-11 against Antrim GS:

1stXV Bowl, QF – Sat 7th Feb

These results mean that the 1stXV competitions have their first final of the year, with Lurgan College to play RS Dungannon in the Trophy decider, the date and venue of which is yet to be announced.

The draw for the Bowl was also made this morning, the semifinals coming out as follows:
