On Saturday afternoon Queen’s University 2XI hosted Monkstown 2XI in an Irish Junior Cup tie at The Dub.
In an exciting game, the home team were first on the scoresheet within 5 minutes when Sasha Logan turned home a shot across goal. Queens kept the pressure on and increased their lead to 2 – 0 when Katie Thompson fired home with an angled shot.
The second quarter was much the same and in the 26th minute, Sasha Logan got a similar deflection to grab her second goal to give Queen’s a 3 – 0 lead. Monkstown had yet to settle but began to create their own chances.
