Schools Hockey: The Royal School Armagh 5 Banbridge Academy 1

On Saturday morning, College Hill was the venue for the schools friendly between The Royal School Armagh and Banbridge Academy. Both teams were shorn of their Ulster players, preparing for the Interprovincial Championships in Cork next week but did have their Ireland players. 

The rain was light; the promised deluge would not happen until later in the day.

Evie Girvan opened the scoring for Armagh

Armagh showed that they meant business. In their first attack a through ball was latched on to by Evie Girvan, who smashed the ball into the Banbridge net to put Armagh 1-0 up in 3 minutes.

Armagh controlled midfield with Evie Girvan and Katie Herron to the fore.
