On Saturday afternoon, at the University of Ulster Sports Village, Ulster rivals University of Ulster Elks met, Pegasus in a Women’s All Ireland League quarter final playoff.
Pegasus started strongly scoring early in the 1st quarter, when Katie McKee drove home a penalty corner for a 1-0 lead. Only some stout Elks defence & brave goalkeeping kept the score to one goal at the end of the 1stquarter.
The 2nd quarter was scoreless. Pegasus continued to dominate but couldn’t crack a stubborn Elks defence. Halftime was reached with Pegasus leading 1-0.
It was more of the same fare in a scoreless 3rd quarter.
