We caught up with the Ulster Hockey Qualifying Plate Final between Pegauss 3rd XI and Ulster University Elks 2XI at Stormont early Saturday afternoon.

Elks had a lively start to the game but, midway through the first quarter, the experienced Pegasus side began to take control and Ruth Millar opened the scoring for a 1 – 0 lead for Pegasus at the end of Q1.

Sisters Rachael Murdock (1) and Ruth Millar (2) scored three goals between them in the match against Elks.

The University of Ulster side equalised at the start of the second quarter as Alex Heyburn found the net but Pegasus went back in front with a Suzanne Ferris goal shortl after.
