We caught up with the Ulster Hockey Kirk Cup Final between Cookstown and Lisnagarvey at Shaws Bridge on Thursday evening.
Garvey are enjoying a strong season and they took the early advantage with a goal in open play from Matthew Nelson after 9 minutes which left the score to 0 – 1 at the end of Q1.

Cookstown looked to battle back throughout Q2 but it was Garvey who scored again, with perfect timing, as Oliver Kidd converted a penalty corner for a 0 – 2 lead just before the half time break.

The teams continued to test each other . . .
