We caught up with the Schools trophy semi final between Dromore High and Antrim Grammar at Barban Hill on Saturday morning.
Antrim Grammar stamped their authority on the game early on with No 3, Jonah Woolley storming his way over the line giving Isaac Lynn a relatively easy kick for a 0 – 7 lead.

The visitors kept the pressure up and soon added to their tally with No 12, Jack McNeilly running in at the corner, Lynn again converting to push it out to 0 – 14.

Dromore went close on a couple of occasions, once being denied right under the opposition posts but they soon got back in the game when No.2, Harry Cromie crashed over the line, Daniel Ennis McManus adding the conversion to pull it back to 7 – 14

The High School had a player red carded near the end of the half and the resultant penalty by Lynn took the score to 7 – 17 in Antrim’s favour at half time.
An early penalty for Antrim, easily dispatched by Lynn, increased the visitor’s lead to 7 – 20. The same player then picked up the ball at an ongoing maul and scampered over for a try which he also converted to push it out to 7 – 27.

Dromore then put a lot of pressure on the Antrim try line and a bit of indiscretion by the defenders saw the awarding of a penalty try to Dromore to take it to 14 – 27.
It was only a blip for Antrim and the visitors drove down to the home try line for McNeilly to dive over for his second score of the game.
It was all Antrim now and near the end of the game, No 1, Eoin Byrne topped off a fine individual drive by going over near the posts making the final conversion by Lynn straightforward to give a 14 – 39 win for Antrim.
