With Ireland v Australia being played the next day, Leinster travelled north to the Kingspan Stadium to play Ulster, on Friday evening, with a team, which allowed squad members game time.

Ulster started brightly. Fast ball and quick handling saw Ben Carson go over, in the right corner. Neil Doak’s conversion gave Ulster a 7-0 lead after 5 minutes.
Leinster replied on 10 minutes with Luke McGrath crossing under the posts. Ross Byrne’s conversion had the sides level at 7-7.
Doak and Byrne exchanged penalty goals on 12 minutes and 17 minutes to leave the sides tied at 10-10.
Another Doak penalty goal on 29 minutes gave Ulster a 13-10 halftime lead. Worryingly Ulster had lost Werner Kok and Ben Moxham to injury. John Cooney was now playing on the wing.
