McConnell Shield: Belfast Harlequins 2XI 6 Queen’s University 3XI 7 (after Run Ins)

I stayed on at Deramore Park for the first half of the late push back McConnell Shield fixture between Belfast Harlequins II and Queens III.

Quins didn’t allow Queens to settle mounting attack after attack. It was no surprise that Quins took the lead after 5 minutes, when Amy Cummings-Bell slotted the ball under the advancing keeper.

Queens found it hard to get out of their own half, as Quins’ piled on the pressure.

Cathy Watson’s rasping shot from the edge of the circle, after 12 minutes, doubled Quins’ lead.
