On Saturday evening Glasgow Warriors were the visitors to Kingspan Stadium to face Ulster Rugby in the Round One of the United Rugby Championship.
Glasgow took control from kick off, forcing Ulster back. From a dominant lineout maul Johnny Mathews was driven over to put Glasgow 5-0 up in 6 minutes.
Ulster sustained more Glasgow pressure before breaking out. A Nathan Doak penalty goal narrowed the margin to 3-5 after 17 minutes.

Minutes later Aidan Morgan charged down Tom Jordan’s clearance kick, hacking it downfield, before regathering and offloading. From the subsequent ruck Morgan found a gap to score, beside the posts. Doak’s conversion gave Ulster a 10-3 lead on 19 minutes.
The Glasgow pack continued to unsettle Ulster in the tight and loose. Henco Venter burrowed over after 26 minutes. Jordan converted and Glasgow led 12-10 at halftime.
