Premier 1: Instonians 12 City of Armagh 53

I caught up with Instonians and City of Armagh in their Ulster Premiership 1B match at Shaws Bridge on Saturday afternoon. The game pitched the two undefeated sides from the first round against each other.

Instonians were under pressure from the kick off but a strong defensive set close to their own line saw them clear the danger and work their way downfield.

Instonians Andrew McGrath goes over for the opening try

A strong scrum in the Armagh 22 put the visitors on the back foot for Andrew McGrath to pick and drive over the line for the opening score after 7 minutes. The conversion from out wide was short leaving the score a 5 – 0 for Instonians.

Armagh replied five minutes later with some quick hands sending Matthew Hooks over out wide to take the score to 5 – 5.
