On Saturday, in game one of a triple header of Youth Finals Banbridge played Cavan in the U14 Provincial Cup. A strong swirling wind, coupled with strong sun, hail and rain made for challenging conditions.
Playing with the wind Cavan attempted to play the ball out of defence but met a strong tackling Banbridge defence. Banbridge opened the scoring when Matthew McAllister found space to go over after 9 minutes. Odhran Toner’s try and conversion on 24 minutes gave Banbridge a 12-0 lead at halftime. Cavan failed to exploit the wind in the 1st half.

An early Lorcan Mantell try after 28 minutes when he ran in from distance, before stretching over in the left corner put Banbridge 17-0 up.
