I caught up with the women’s Club Junior Cup semi final between Owls 2nd XI and Queen’s University 4th XI at Roughfort late last night.
It was a great game from start to finish with plenty of action from both teams. Owls took the lead 10 minutes into the first quarter with the majestic Faye Hayes knocking on a penalty corner to give the home side a 1- 0 lead.
Queen’s upped the tempo in the second quarter but just as it looked like Owls were going to maintain their advantage for the start of the second half a wonderful run and finish from Queen’s Zara Hanna tied the game at 1 – 1 as the teams changed ends.
