On Saturday I made the trip over from Shaw’s Bridge, in time, to take in the 1st half of the Queens v Ballymoney Women Premier fixture at The Dub. Queens had beaten Ballymoney 5-0, last Saturday, in the Irish Senior Cup. They won the Women Premier Title on Wednesday evening and were uncompromising in their attitude to the game.

Jodie Simmons scored late in the 1st quarter

They pinned Ballymoney back in the 1st quarter, starving the Ballymoney forwards of ball. Ballymoney only had infrequent visits to the Queens half. Eventually pressure told and Jodie Simmons scored in the 13th minute to give Queens a 1-0 1st quarter lead.
