Ulster University Elks 2nd XI faced Avoca 2nd XI in a Irish Hockey Junior Cup clash in a busy Saturday afternoon of cup hockey at Jordanstown Sports Village.
Avoca II struck first, with Emma Courtney finding the net from mid-circle and the visitors continued to keep the pressure on as the looked to add to their 0 -1 lead.
After a slow start the Elks responded, as Aoibhin McDonnell slotted a shot into the corner to take the score to 1 – 1 at the first break.
