I caught up with the Girls U18 League match between players from Carrick, Larne, Ophir and Malone against players from Cavan, Clogher Valley and Monaghan on Sunday afternoon at Larne RFC, The Glynn.
The game kicked off with CLOM playing into a strong wind, but they had plenty of willing carriers to take the ball up the middle of the park. CCVM scrambled well in defence, but the pressure eventually told and Cora Cahill powered over, with the help of Ruby Starrett, for the opening try for a 5 – 0 lead after 11 minutes.

Starrett and Cara McLean combined well on the right on a couple of occasions to punch big holes in the CCVM defence, and a break through the middle saw Abi Carson cross . . .
