Forster Cup: Academy II 31 Belfast Harlequins III 12

I caught up with the re-arranged Forster Cup match between Academy 2nd XV and Belfast Harlequins 3rd XV as my final match at Roughfort on Saturday afternoon.

The game was an absolute cracker from start to finish featuring two evenly matched teams determined to test themselves and play rugby as it should be played.

It opened up at a furious pace with Academy on the attack from the off. They came close on a number of occasions but Quins held firm and worked their way up field for their No 8 Ken McKenzie to bustle over for the opening score, converted by Matty Reid, to give Quins a 7 – 0 lead after ten minutes.

Ken McKenzie comes up with the ball after opening the scoring for Quins.
